Wifi Dabba is a pioneer in building and operating low cost public wifi networks in India since 2017. Dabba Network was created in 2023 as a web3 DePin hotspot project building on the Solana blockchain and having deployed thousands of hotspots across India serving users with super fast and super cheap internet.

Mobile networks (4G/5G) are crucial for on-the-go connectivity, but fiber offers the unbeatable combination of stability and high speed, perfect for homes and offices with demanding internet needs. True economic growth thrives on a powerful combination of both mobile and fixed broadband.

Studies suggest a link between high broadband penetration (like China's 625 million connections for 1.425 billion people or the US's 120 million for 330 million) and GDP growth. Currently, India has only 30 million fiber connections for 1.425 billion people, a significant gap to bridge. 
With an internet penetration rate of only around 50%, expanding fiber access empowers individuals and fuels economic development, as internet access goes beyond just communications today.

Why is connectivity in India so important?

The enormous amount of capital and manpower required for building and maintaining traditional telecommunication infrastructure acts a significant barrier to exapnsion . The DePIN model allows these requirements to be shared amongst several stakeholders who in turn are fairly rewarded according to their contributions to deploying and maintaining the network. This allows for faster deployment and growth of the infrastructure network compared to traditional models.

Why DePIN?

Dabba prioritizes real-world use. Deployers on the dabba network aim to install hotspots in locations where data demand is high and where the hotspot is the primary source of internet connectivity for the end consumer.

How is Dabba different from other DePin projects?

The Dabba Network is supported by its utility token, $DBT.
$DBT fuels the network by rewarding a diverse range of stakeholders who contribute to its growth:

The dabba network implores a mint buyback and burn token model through which $DBT is burnt (removed from supply) as the network grows and more data is consumed.

What is $DBT?

The Genesis Period, running from November 1, 2023, till TGE, is the period required for testing of the network and all systems before implementation on mainnet. Supporters recieve a reward allocation based on the Season they participated in.

Season 1 
Genesis reward calculations start from Nov 1st, 2023 or date of purchase whichever comes latter, uptill date of TGE. Reward distribution will commence from date of TGE. These rewards will follow a rolling lock in period, defined by the number of days between 1st of Nov, 2023 to date of TGE.

Seasson 2.
Genesis reward calculations start from May 15th, 2024 or date of purchase whichever comes latter, uptill date of TGE. Reward distribution will commence from date of TGE. These rewards will follow a rolling lock in period, defined by the number of days between 15th of May, 2024 to date of TGE.

The target date for TGE is on or before July 1st, 2024.

How can i join the Dabba network?

The Dabba Lite serves as the last-mile access point for data consumers on the Dabba Network. When you purchase a Dabbba lite device, you must then choose an LCO partner on the Dabba network to deploy and maintain the hotspot for you, in India.

As a hotspot owner you are responsible for the distribution of rewards to the stakeholders who deploy and maintain the dabba network.
Onboarding, monitoring and maintenance of your hotspot is facilitated through the dabba explorer.

What is the Dabba Lite and what happens after my purchase?

Dabba hotspots are currently in use across India. You'll find them deployed in co-living spaces, apartments, offices, and more, as the primary source of high-speed and reliable internet connectivity for end consumers.
